Searching for Me

Searching for Me

Lost and wondering
Searching for away to find the self I once knew in yesterday
Confidence shattered, self-worth in doubt
Uncertain of who I am and what I’m about

But through the darkness
A glimmer of light
A spark of hope that burns so bright
A realization that I must learn to love
The person that I am, imperfect as a dove

It’s not about perfection, or being flawless
But learning to embrace my own uniqueness
To celebrate the quirks that make me me
And cherish all that I have yet to be

I’m starting to see myself in a new light
To appreciate the things that make me shine bright
To hold my head high and walk with pride
And trust that I’ll find my way, step by stride

So, here’s to finding myself
One day at a time
To loving the person that I am,
Flaws and all because they are mine

To growing and changing,
But never forgetting
That self-love is the key to a life worth living
